Summer External Student Worker - Market Access analytics

Novartis has operated at the forefront of the managed care industry and is taking further steps to address both the near-term managed care and healthcare systems issues as well as the longer-term sustainability of the US pricing and access model. As part of our efforts to remain at the forefront, Novartis is increasing sophistication and customization of market access strategies by improving account engagement models, increasing the sophistication and customization of contracting and market access strategies and enhancing analytics capabilities. Market Access analytics is a fully integrated commercialization process aimed at optimizing product market share within a given timeframe through customer-facing integration of market access dynamics relevant to that product.

Market Access Summer External Student Worker would focus on delivering on several key projects to enable more effective pull-through contracting & channel strategy, account management, and local market dynamics.

Responsibilities:
• Structure coverage data to support field facing teams to maximize pull-through efforts by providing high impact insight on payer coverage
• Expand understanding of healthcare landscape, including types of insurance coverage, and key health insurance terminology
• Support refresh of dashboards and fact books to improve account team effectiveness and to better inform Market Access Leaders of about key payer and channel customers
• Support analog analysis to uncover insights to better inform pre-deal PBM negotiations
• Work closely with members of the Market Access analytics and network across Market Access and IPST as necessary
• Manage project timelines and prepare presentation for IPST and Market Access Leadership as needed

Minimum Requirements:
Candidate should be in a US accredited degree-granting college or university pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in data sciences or analytics
• Interest in a career in pharmaceuticals
• Basic understanding of the US healthcare system
• Possess interpersonal and communication skills; ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
• Experienced user of Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Excel), including data management processes, structuring data and programming
• Strong analytical skills with demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team.

Location: East Hanover, NJ (100% onsite)
Pay Rate: $22 - $34/hr based on education level

Contract: 06/09/2025 - End date will be 8/22/2025
