Primary responsibilities include serving the team and product owner in turning requirements into working software, tracking progress and helping the team achieve their commitments, monitoring progress daily, developing corrective actions with the team when problems are identified, managing and reporting on scope, schedule, resources, and financials, extracting and documenting requirements, authoring user stories and acceptance criteria, ensuring team members understand processes, ensuring product quality expectations are known across the team, collaborating in scheduling work (including defect remediation and refactoring), working to guard against technical debt, balancing interests between the technical team and product owner, removing impediments, taking lead on resolving conflicts, guiding project meetings (sprint planning, daily scrum, sprint reviews), facilitating retrospectives, supporting continuous improvement, and limiting external interference.

The Scrum Master’s job is to deliver maximum value to the customer. Scrum Masters facilitate daily stand-ups and support the team in following the Scrum delivery process. Scrum Masters also handle traditional project management duties including scope definition, staffing, communication of status to clients and partners, budget oversight, and risk management.

Requirements:

Experience as a Tester is helpful, but not required. Practical use of quality management tools and techniques. Certification (Certified ScrumMaster® - CSM) is optional. 2-5 years of experience serving as Scrum Master. Management of more than one significant project at a time. Prior experience as Business Analyst and a degree in information technology, business, or related field. Exceptional people skills and comfortable working with a diverse group and arbitrating conflicts. Understanding of financial controls in project management and consulting. Practical understanding of work scoping and estimation. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Experience in project management.
