Remote position with up to 50% travel Your Job & Our Team We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Quality Management System (QMS) Manager to lead our efforts in managing byproducts like Crude Tall Oil (CTO), turpentine, and soap. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in quality management and a proven track record of implementing and maintaining effective QMS processes.
What You Will Do - Establishing Quality Objectives and Policy: Develop clear, measurable quality objectives aligned with the organization's strategic goals and customer expectations. Communicate a quality policy reflecting a commitment to quality and continuous improvement throughout the organization.
- Identifying Key Processes: Define key processes needed for the QMS, assign responsibilities, and outline process inputs, outputs, and interactions.
- Documentation and Retention System: Create and maintain necessary documentation such as certificates of analysis, quality procedures, work instructions, and a record management system.
- Training and Implementation: Implement the QMS and provide training to employees at all levels on their roles and responsibilities within the system.
- Monitoring and Measuring Effectiveness: Establish metrics and KPIs to monitor and measure the effectiveness of the QMS and processes.
- Internal Audits and Management Reviews: Conduct regular internal audits to evaluate compliance and identify areas for improvement. Hold management reviews to assess the QMS's effectiveness and alignment with quality objectives.
- Continual Improvement: Implement a process for continual improvement using data from audits, customer feedback, and performance metrics to enhance the QMS.
- Collaboration with Regional Labs: Collaborate with regional labs and address equipment needs to support quality improvement initiatives, optimize soap processing, resolve supply chain issues, and improve equipment and testing capabilities at various mills.
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications) - Bachelor's degree in Quality Management, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in quality management, preferably in the chemical or manufacturing industry.
- Strong knowledge of QMS standards and best practices.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to analyze data and implement effective quality improvement strategies.
- Experience with internal audits and management reviews.
- Proficiency in documentation and record management systems.
- Ability to travel 50%
