Title: IT Senior Professional II – Network Administrator
Location: On-site – Sanford, FL (Travel to local warehouses and field sites required)

Solutions³ LLC is supporting our State Government customer on a mission-critical sustainment program to provide administrative and operational support for the client’s field-based network infrastructure, which includes over 2,000 connected devices. This effort supports the reliable performance of transportation systems, remote monitoring platforms, and essential services that depend on secure and resilient connectivity.
The Network Administrator will be responsible for configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting Fortinet firewalls, Layer 2/3 switches, and network monitoring platforms such as LibreNMS and Brocade. This role plays a critical part in ensuring secure, compliant, and uninterrupted communication between FDOT’s core network and field assets. It includes both on-site diagnostics and field-level infrastructure support, positioning the specialist as a key contributor to the continuity and security of the Department’s traffic management and incident response capabilities.
Responsibilities
- Configure, monitor, and maintain Layer 2/3 switches, Fortinet firewalls, and wireless network infrastructure.
- Install, configure, and administer LibreNMS for infrastructure performance monitoring and diagnostics.
- Troubleshoot network connectivity issues between core network and field devices, including switches, controllers, and cellular routers.
- Coordinate firmware upgrades and assist with configuration backups for routers, switches, and field controllers.
- Install and support Fiber-to-Ethernet media converters, Brocade devices, and interface to monitoring platforms.
- Collaborate with the client teams to diagnose issues, escalate tickets, and resolve network and access layer incidents.
- Ensure compliance with SLERS, CJIS, and other client security policies for all network and field-connected infrastructure.
- Maintain accurate documentation for IP addressing, physical port assignments, and equipment configurations.
- Travel to local warehouses and remote sites to install, validate, or replace field infrastructure components as required.
Required Qualifications
- U.S. Citizenship is required.
- Must be eligible for SLERS and CJIS clearance.
- Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in enterprise network administration or infrastructure support.
- Experience configuring and maintaining Fortinet firewalls and FortiGate platforms.
- Proficiency with network protocols including TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, VLANs, and VPNs.
- Hands-on experience with Layer 2/3 switch configuration and diagnostics.
- Working knowledge of LibreNMS or similar NMS platforms for monitoring and alerts.
- Ability to support physical installation of routers, switches, and media converters.
- Strong troubleshooting and escalation skills for distributed infrastructure environments.
Desired Skills
- Experience working with Brocade switches or similar network hardware.
- Familiarity with CJIS Security Policy and NIST SP 800-53 control families.
- Comfort operating in field conditions and remote deployment scenarios.
- Experience supporting public sector or transportation network environments.
- Familiarity with POA&M development or audit trail documentation.
- Ability to write or contribute to technical documentation and asset inventory reports.
- Working knowledge of Zero Trust networking concepts and endpoint security.
- Basic scripting experience (e.g., PowerShell, Bash, or Python) to assist with automation.
- Familiarity with Atlassian Jira or other ITSM workflow platforms.
Required Education
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience). Two additional years of relevant work experience may be substituted for each year of required education.
